I am also using an early front cover; mine is off an '83 RX7.  Note that
if you are building a '86 or later 13b you will need an oil pan and oil
pickup off an '84 or '85 RX7 GSLE (13b) or you will need to build a
custom oil pan with a modified pickup.  I'm building a custom pan for my
RV-4 so this wasn't an issue for me.

OK I'll admit it, you lost me on the last thread. Why the '84-'85 GSLE pan?
Wo'nt the pan fit if you use the earlier model front cover?

Here is a sketch and picture of my latest design for the 2nd gen front 
motor mount. (rear in a tractor). The 2nd gen front cover does not have
the built in motor mount bosses.

The holes in the front cover extensions have not yet been drilled
as I need to grind the flange off the edge of the oil pan seen
at the left. This was made from a 2 by 3 by 1/4 inch thick angle 
extrusion. A T extrusion would work better as then you could pick
up two of the oil pan bolts instead of only one.

The exact dimensions of the pan hole from the front cover extensions
was hard to determine accurately. I made a special bolt with
a center point and tapped the bracket on the bottom with a hammer 
to mark it for the drawing and drilling the hole. I took a picture
of this little bolt if anyone is interested. 

These cute little Barry rubber mounts are just great as you can get them in
a variety of sizes and stiffnesses. Very cheap too at around $5 each. 
The 22001 comes with a free snubbing washer.
