    I think you all have converted me from trying a VW motor in a
Dragonfly/Velocity XL RG to a rotary. The more I
read about it, the more I like. I have a few questions for you all. I just
bought a 79 RX-7 car for $200 off a kid with a good
running 12B in it. I thought this may be a good engine for a Dragonfly
project. They recomend a 60HP VW engine for 180
MAX speed. This 12B in stock form puts out about 105HP at 6000 RPM. It is
carburated. Does anyone have a motor
mount plan for a 12B rotary in a Dragonfly?
    I also just bought an 1986 13B fuel injected engine for $100 that I
thought would be good for a Velocity XL RG project.
I haven't any info on it yet. I'm looking for a good book that will tell me
more about these motors. Does anyone have a motor
mount plan for a 13B for a Velocity XL RG? I won't have the 13B for about a
week or so. Does anyone know what HP this puts out?

#1 Does a 12B and a 13B, and a 20B have the same bolt pattern for motor
mounts?

First let me say it is a 12A and and not a 12B. Unfortunately no. The
motor mounts are all different and different from year to year on the 13B.

#2 Does anyone make these rotary motor mounts, for the Velocity XL RG and
Dragonfly, and if so about how much are they?

Not to my knowledge.

#3 What reduction drive do you suggest to use, and about how much does it
cost?
    Dragonfly       12B      Engine not recommended. Too heavy
    Velocity XL RG  13B      Tracy Crook $2500
    Velocity XL RG  20B      Tracy Crook $3000

#3 Ruffly how much HP can I expect to get out of a minor tweaked:
    12B Carb              140      
    12B Fuel Injection    150
    12B Turbo             180 
    13B Carb              150 
    13B Fuel Injection    185 
    13B Turbo             200 to 250 
    20B Carb              225 
    20B Fuel Injection    275 
    20B Turbo             300  to 375 

#4 This 1979 12B has a point distributor, will a newer electronic one work in
this 12B, or is there and aftermaket one better to use?

Yes. Or a magnetic pick up off the e-shaft

#5 Is there and aftermarket computer to work with the 1986 13B Fuel Injection?

Yes. Tracy Crook.

#6 What modificationions to these motors do you all recommend for plane use:
    1979 12B carb

Disable the oil injection pump and mix 2 cycle oil with the fuel. 
New intake and exhaust manifolds.

    1986 13B Fuel Injection

Disable the oil injection pump and mix 2 cycle oil with the fuel
Disable the oil thermostat in the nose of the e-shaft.
New intake and exhaust manifolds. 

#7 Any reccomendations on brand name, size of props, and there approximate
costs for the:
    12B Carb in a Dragonfly           Not recommended. Engine too heavy.

    13B Fuel Injection Velocity XL RG     Don't know yet.

#8 Any reccomendations on who to have rebuild these, or a good rebuild manuel?

fuel Injection manifold
