Here is another view of the Mecanair engine with the stock 89-92 turbo. 
They spent big bucks developing this so they must have been reasonable 
sure it was going to work.

I don't know if they sold any yet but they were asking a lot of money.
something like $20,000 as I recall. Custom planetary PSRU with
governor drive for a constant speed prop. The PSRU ratio must have been
up around 3:1 as they talk about a max prop speed of 2000 RPM.
European noise rules of course.
