An old friend of mine (a mechanical engineer) has been developing the

engine

of
your dreams (and his, and mine) for the last 25 yrs -3,000 rpm (max),
rotary (about 12"x 12" ) gives 85 hp (approx) with an 18" x18" giving

200hp.

This is on paper and is in the throws of getting built, I ring him

every

week to keep
him motivated, he won't outsourse the making of the parts for fear of
someone
finding out his secrets - apparantly it's very simple.

He did however say it needed valves - can't win them all !!

HMMM.   A rotary with valves?   I assume that this means that it is some
other type of rotary engine, not a Wankel design.   I wish him luck,
a lot of interesting ideas have had a great deal of trouble making the

leap

from paper to steel and aluminum.  Even the Wankel, as good as it is,
has had a lot of trouble reaching production.
