I also have a lightweight pump body unit that takes the local GM Holden in
line 6 cylinder water pump and thermostat   Out of production at present as
the patterns are being modified to make it work with a standard Rotary
thermostat with the bypass  block off arrangement. Was originally made for
sticking Rotaries into Dak-Daks and Subarus.

Also,  try  toying with using a different pump. The old  Toyota Crown 6
cylinder engines had a neat self contained pump,  as do the 4 cylinder
Mitsubishi Magna in this country. It will mount onto a flat plate and is
self contained.  You will need to have a separate thermostat housing.   Go
to an Auto parts store and have a browse thru a water pump catalog,  or go
and have a cruise in a Jap Import wrecking yard.  I'm sure you will find
something that will do the job.

Electric water pumps don't work plane and simple!! Run the numbers!!!
In order to pump the same number (35) gallons per minute as a mechanical 
pump they need to be several HP. AT 746 watts per HP that is 2240 watts 
or 186 amps out of the 12 volt battery. Run the numbers your self. 

Electric water pumps are scams pure and simple! A three HP 12 volt 
motor would be about the size and weight of a starter motor not including the
weight of the second alternator you will need to supply it with 186 amps of 
current. Why add another 20 pounds to your firewall forward?
