Ken and Ed did you guys determine the exact part number for
the inner teflon encapsulated coolant O-rings? Perry has decided
to use those and I need to order them from McMaster Carr and get
them to John at Mazdatrix.

Paul,
We are still looking for the outer coolant oring and the inner oil
control oring. Here are the 'good' numbers:
1. Inner coolant oring
part # = 9319K239
asa568a-175
qty = 4, price = $9.94 each
2. Outer oil control oring
part # = 9319K221
asa568a-158
qty = 4, price = $7.17 each
I took these measurements a few weeks ago and came up with the
following:
1. Inner coolant oring - part # 9319k239 ASA 568a dash 175 (just
for the record I think you originally identified these):
circumference = 28.625
diameter = 9.111
slot depth = 0.062
slot width = 0.141
McMaster-Carr # = 9319K239
2. outer coolant oring - no part number for this that I could
find
diameter = 11.340
slot depth = 0.062
slot width = 0.110
I measured the oil control o-rings 2 different ways. First, I
measured the metal scrapers with my digital calipers. Secondly,
I cut an o ring and measured its length to obtain the
circumference and divided by pi to get the diameter. I also
got the sectional values by measuring the orings.
3. Inner oil control oring -
outside diameter of scraper ring = 4.559
depth of scraper slot = 0.097
(Note that I could not measure the inside dia of the inner oil
control so I had to calculate it.)
Total thickness of oring / slot = 0.097 * 2 = .194
Inside diameter of scraper ring = 4.559 - .194 = 4.365
Circumference of Mazda oring = 13.75
Dia. of Mazda oring = 4.377
section thickness of Mazda oring = 0.103 high by 0.134 deep
4. Outer oil control oring -
outside diameter of scraper ring = 4.995
depth of scraper slot = 0.080
Total thickness of oring / slot = 0.08 * 2 = .160
Inside diameter of scraper ring = 4.995 - .160 = 4.835
Circumference of Mazda oring = 15"
Dia. of mazda oring = 4.775
section thickness of Mazda oring = 0.105 (shape is round)
McMaster-Carr # = 9319k221
ASA568A-158
