This is the way I would do it now.
Almost an exact copy of the Questair rear mount only
the strut is longer as the rotary is further away from
the firewall than the IO-550 is in the Questair mount
shown in the picture. Much simpler to fab than the tripod
type rear mount. A T extrusion bracket could straddle
mount the lower ball joint. The upper ball joint
can be straddle mounted with two Al angles simply bolted
to the composite firewall.

The front Barry Neoprene bushings are more than capable of taking all
engine thrust loads and aligning the thrust line in the top view.

This could be made to work in a non composite airplane by beefing up
the top of the firewall where it joins the cowl.
