had over the past year did try my patience at times, but never induced me to

 The only thing I can think of is that perhaps someone reading about the
problems I had last year would think any sane person would have switched to
a Lycoming.  But, then if any of us were truly sane would we be flying??
In any case, inform the RV builder he is mistaken.  I am curious as to why
he had that opinion, but not worth you pursuing.
