Help! I need info on intercoolers. Whoever bought TurboNetics
also bought Spearco to establish a monopoly in the after market
turbo system business. They doubled the price of the core I was planning
on using to $480 (ouch!) which coincidentally is the retail price of
one Mitsubishi 3000 Gt twin turbo intercooler. It has two.
What are the sizes and junkyard prices of Volvo, Saab and Buick
turbo intercoolers?

Take a look at the Howe aluminum radiator cores. They are cheap enough,
and the larger ones make pretty good intercoolers. HKS has some lovely
stuff, but they are even pricier.
I'm using a Mazda Turbo II intercooler in the usual duct and plenum
arrangement and am quite happy with it.
What kind of temps are you expecting out of the intercooler? That would
help me a lot in steering you to some junkyard, er, previously tested
componentry. Drop me an email direct if you like, and take a look at my
Web site for a pic of the coolers I'm using. Hey, they work ... :)

Thanks Greg. I would like to keep the intake air temp below about 130 degrees F.
What are you seeing?
