What are the current thoughts regarding pressurized cooling
systems?
Are
they worth the trouble and would they help us with the rotory in
any
way?

It appears that 24 psi is essential.

I'm talking about pre pressurizing.  It's my understanding that some
racing
enthusiasts do this.


Well we have two people so far that say its great for finding leaks
but no testimonials on better cooling during takeoff but in theory
it might help to keep the pump from cavitating.

That was my initial thought, but I was wondering if you left it
pressurized
after testing the system on the ground, if it would then have a
cumulative
effect on the total pressure in the system after it heats up.  In other
words, would the pressure in the system then have to be.. say..30 #.
This
may be a stupid question, but remember, I'm an accountant.

The pressure cap will keep it at 24 psi as the engine warms up.

For what its worth, early on I would pressurize my coolant system.  Just had
a shadier valve clamped in a rubber hose attached to the venting tube of the
radiator cap mount.  I would pump in around 12-15 psi and then let it sit
overnight to see if I had any leaks.  Well, I did not and so on occasion
flew it with the precharge.  I could not tell any effect other than the
pressure would further increase when the engine warmed up but only slightly
like around 3-4 psi.  I could not tell any real benefit from flying with the
precharge - on the other hand it did not seem to adversely effect cooling.
