Hi Tracy,
I trust that you are now over the worst of your recovery from the
medical procedure - at least I hope so. So now you are recovered, I have a
couple of questions.
1. I noticed you changed the value of R1 in your Fuel Flow Meter
diagram from 10K (see attach) to 20K ohms. Any particular reason - better
linearity? I ran both on PSICE and could see no significant change in
function. So was just wondering.
2. What is the lowest inlet air temperature that your EC2 compensates
for by fuel enrichment? 0F? -20F? -50F? Limit of the sensor? I am
considering experimenting with nitrous oxide and noticed one system whereby
they use the cooling effect of the evaporating N20 is used to fool the
injection system into automatically providing additional fuel due to the
lower temperature sensed (makes it think its in the artic {:>)).
Been busy flying to Fly-ins, no oil leaks, no oil pressure problems. I
still have the EGTs varying by 200F from time to time. It never seems to
happen at high fuel flow rates. I am beginning to suspect that it is indeed
an effect of the 2 cycle oil mixture. Last flight I started carrying a
container to premix the oil and fuel before filling the tank. The
phenomenon appear to occur much less frequently since then. I also recall
that I am using a different 2 cycle oil than I had previously used. Perhaps
I will switch back to my old brand and see if that makes a difference.
Say hello to Laura for me and looking forward to seeing you both in the
fall.
Best Regards
Ed
