I think that they will definately close down the VFR corredor that
passes by
the island of Manhattan- too bad, I grew up near there, and it is one
of my
goals to fly my wife out there- she used to live in Manhattan.

The fact that airline travel will be that much more difficult will
make me
rely more on general aviation.

I think that you are right, it would be a victory for terrorism if we
were to
sacrifice our freedoms for a small measure of security. The meek will
never
be free.

This is a very serious situation and whether we like or not it is
possible that some of these Islamist animals (which is not the same as
Islamic) could still be on the loose awaiting an opportunity to strike
again. The length of the incoming offensive speaks clearly that very
unfortunately we are not facing a Hollywood-like shoot-the-one-bandit
and come home quick. What we MUST ensure, and for this we should contact
our representatives, is that these measures be clearly put in place with
a well defined end point just like the objectives to be achieved
whenever warfare is started.

As much as I dislike it, we should understand that if there is any
measure to keep close track of anyone flying in our airspace, that
measure should be put in place to avoid or at least minimize any further
occurence similar to Sept.11. because once it happens it is already too
late to complain.
