I don't know if this works on other versions of

ACAD but

I just discovered how to output gifs in almost

any resolution.

Select raster plot file under plotter

configuration.

Hopefully my new sketches will be higher res

with more detail.

OK here is the first example. Thanks to a little

help from my friend Butch.

I will change the back ground color from black to

white as this will

be easier on your printer ink jet cartridges.

Higher res is possible so I

will

try that too.

That works out rather slick!. I've been exporting

dxf's out to paintshop pro

and then adjusting them. This saves a few steps.

Guess I should go back

and RTFM and see what else is in there ;-]

Paul, "It tickles the cockles of me heart", to hear your
enthusiasm over ACAD12.........For I too felt the same
way a decade ago. Yes indeed ACAD12 was the "Golden Era"
for AutoDesk, until the 13 reared it's ugly head. The
transition from ACAD11 was very friendly considering the
big advancements of ACAD12..........So read on and
you'll see how much more enamored you'll become.

A quick short story......I've always been a multiple
license user of AutoCad since they first introduced
their wares........until they HAD to join the Windows
masses and came out with ACAD13, biggest mistake they
made, they pushed it out too soon, it was so bad that I
converted the whole company back to ACAD12 within 2
months, and sent all 15 COPIES of ACAD13 back for full
refund, which they refused to give me, so I had my
lawyer send them BIG proof of my 8 week losses (BIG
bucks), they wound up QUICKLY settling IN
FULL ......NEVER EVEN MADE IT TO COURT.......you know
why? I requested to personally demonstrate how
ineficient version 13 was compared to 12, in other words
I beat the pants off of their best operator using
version 13 :-) True story, which I'm not supposed to be
talking about ;-)

But unfortunately I had to succumb to business pressure
and eventually bought acad14, which BTW, is excellent
but only because they HAD to implement a way of having
the ability to be operated SAME AS ACAD12......Seems I
wasn't the only "Unsatisfied Consumer" :-)

I had much the same experience. I tried 13 and 14 under Windows. 
Bad news! Too slow! I now run 12 on a 200 megacycle processor
under DOS and 128 meg ram with DOS extender of course. It goes 
lightening fast. You haven't lived until you run an old  character ap
under DOS, lots of memory and the new faster processors. 
Windows was a huge productivity mistake! 

Greg Richter and I had a long discussion along those lines at Rotomotor. 
He writes his own O.S. in the flat 32 bit protected mode of the Intel 
processors. When you roll your IFR airplane, Greg's virtual out
the window terrain view rolls with you. Greg promised me an
article on this any day now.

Having said that the hatching in 12 still sucks. I use Paint under 
Linux to hatch the gifs.
