The airlines are rapidly installing the bar configuration as we speak. The
reason is
it can be retrofitted quickly. The program will probably be complete within
a week or two.<<
Jet Blue just installed their doors that are axe proof and bullet proof
(Kevlar lined) as well as reinforced to prevent a forced entry.<<
I mentioned the Jet Blue conversion because they announced here yesterday
that they will have completed all the cockpit door conversions on their
aircraft next week, using doors designed as I mentioned in the previous
email. They got them delivered and installed pretty quickly from someplace.
They have 18 Airbus A320s. Sounds like they are a little more substantial
than the bar idea.
The axe was mentioned by the TV news release...fire axe was the term used.

There is a an axe in the cockpit of most airliners I think. It is intended to be
used as an escape tool in case of a crash.
