The low temp soldering/brazing filler rod is not compatible with the TIG
welding process. That "solder" is not really aluminum and boils out when
one tries to weld over it. If you can tack weld with that stuff then why
not weld up the whole manifold with that process? In my experience it is
strong enough. There are also flux coated oxy/acet aluminum welding rods
that will do a perfectly adequate, though not pretty, job.

Perry if you don't want to do this. I will tig tack weld it for you and
then you can give it to Bruce to be welded or I can give it to my local
tig welder.
You will then need to pay my welder. I am not good enough yet to do a good
overall job. Bruce does a better job than my local tig welder.
Are you willing to weld it Bruce, after it is tig tacked together? We have
quite a few of these intake manifolds to make.
Plan B. Get Mike Wills welder to do another one.
