Please try to read this DXF file for me and let me know
what CAD program you are using.

Here is the iges file. I zipped it up to make it a little smaller.

is optimized for mastercam.

That sort of worked Monty. I got the outline of the plate but nothing
else. No holes no dimensions. Interesting.

Ok the IGES worked well with MasterCam (not CadKey) and it looks

identical to the

shaded extrusion though with some more colors. No notes or dimensions

The file I sent is exactly the same file that the CNC shop used to make the
part.  Monty is correct.  The notes and dimensions (in english) are just for
humans.  The drawing itself is the final word on dimensions.  Text on the
drawing is usually the least interchangable thing on CAD drawings and
probably explains why some programs have trouble importing files with text.

Does not mean much Tracy as the NC shop could have used a program to convert
the drawing file to machine G codes or did it manually by a human reading the drawing 
and typing in the machine G codes. I have done plenty of that when I took a
two semester course in NC machine tool programming. If the drawing is strictly
to scale with all holes shown and one can load it into ones own CAD program
then that CAD program can dimension the drawing. Unfortunately very few
people always draw things strictly to scale.
