Also Finn Lassen started his engine up WOT with no oil pressure,
no prop, ran it up to somewhere around 10,000 RPM in a second or two
where it seized. He chiseled it apart, replaced the bearings and
he is flying it as we speak.

Doh! I had a rivet from the aircleaner separate and stick in my secondary
throttle plates (this was in the carburetted 12A) and when I disengaged the
clutch to avoid an accident it revved far enough to hit the back of the '0'
pin in my tach. I am assuming about 10K. Of course I shut down immediately.
Only damage suffered was an overpressured heater hose and a few popped
fuses.

Changed the hose, changed the oil, been driving it ever since.
