I'm scared to do this but when you know something you have to tell! N/A
rotary engine put out way more power with muffers than without! After years
of testing where and how much back pressure is very interesting. This is the
hard part- the best to date is a 2.25" dia. converter from Miller Catalizer
or Walker. Very impressive results. Big time even with " street porting ".
When I was envolved with rotary avaiation I just couldn't see a way to do it!

That is interesting Skip. All the  dyno results that we have from Everett Hatch 
indicate that an open  tuned pipe around 32 inches long gives the most power.
Mazda also came to the same conclusion in several SAE papers that they
wrote on the subject.

Here is a graph from a Mazda SAE paper and a picture of Everett's engine.

True both of these test engines are peripheral ports but that apparently 
has little to do with the results.

What are you comparing this muffler too? In other words, did you also do
an extensive back to back  test with open pipes of various lengths to make 
a direct comparison with this muffler?
