As far as I can tell there is a severe bug in ACAD R12 "point"
command both for polar coordinates and rectangular coordinates.
I had to use ACAD R11 to plot these rectangular points in the dwg.
I wrote a little Quick BASIC program to convert from Tracy's polar
to rectangular coordinates and then used R11 IMPORT command to import
the text file. Apparently R12 cannot import text.

If anybody else has a CAD program please try  to use your "point" command
(if your CAD has that feature) and plot these points on this drawing.
I am particularly interested in Turbo CAD as that seems to be
the best deal on the market. Also please let me know if Turbo CAD can import
a text file.

We can accomplish a lot with the Internet and this newsletter but we need
to develop software tools to exchange engineering ideas and share good designs.

I'm glad, some of you, or is it just paul here who are at least waking up to this fact, about trying to use a universal
cad program, format, here for exchanging idea's. I, and I'm sure there have been others here who have suggested it
months ago before me.I now some of you don't even have a cad program. Some of you ole dogs, don't want to learn
new tricks. Autocad 11/12, come on Paul, it's almost the year 2002, not 1985. Now, you have many, NEW, FREE,
to cheap cad/cam programs out there on the market. 

I use the DOS based CAD software because it is much faster when run on modern hardware.
I don't expect all Windows based CAD would have file interchange ability either. 

I have seen hand drawan-scanned images to JPG, PICT, GIF,
DXF, IGES, files etc, here. Now most of your parts drawings here have been in 2D. Anyone can learn simple 2D here.
There are cad programs for MAC and IBM users too. There are some cad programs that are universal cad program for
Mac and IBM. Paul, you need to set the standards here like dxf formant for cad drawings, JPG for pictures, recomend
everyone use a universal cad program for submitting idea's. Also we need to be better at naming/numbering these files,
adapterPlate001, adapterPlate002, adapterPlate003, adapterPlate004, etc. Maybe adapterPlate001RG for Rich Gillen.
