Make sure that ACAD "Units" is set to highest
precision for both Units and
Angles. This will eliminate rounding errors.
Save your acad.dwg prototype file with these
settings and life will be good.

I tried that Larry. Five decimals on the angles and
four on the retangulars.
That should be enough right? If you have ACAD R12
please try the point command
for me on that drawing and let me know if it works for you.

Hi Paul;
Since I was away I'm probably too late on this
string, but for the future..........It is a bad practice
to locate radial entities by using deg/min/sec coords.
instead you should use degrees and fractions therof to
the UMPTIENTH decimal place. With that said, the easiest
and most accurate proceedure I have found for actual
target placement of entities (holes in this case), is
mathematical registry................Thus:
-DRAW the hole (circle) in the center of the starting
center.
-Innitiate COPY command, multiple, Pick CIRCLE, click
any place on the drawing for 1st point and type,
@6<38.3697 for second point, this will give you a copy
of the circle (Hole) ACCURATELY located 6.000000" radius
from its origin, at a POLAR angle of 36.3697 deg from
your polar 0 deg REFERENCE.
To CHECK location (In see IF you f----d up)
-Initiate ID command, pick subject entity, enter
and "VOILA" the location can be read, if not enough data
then, initiate the good all LIST command.
This SIMPLE/fast procedure avoids all the headaches and
MAL interpretations between the Designer, Programmer and
the most important person the "MACHINIST".
Paul, I know that you didn't need me to be so wordy and
precise in naming every command entry step, but I did it
for 2 reasons...For the benefit of the weaker ACAD users
and definitely my Hispanic PATRIARCH genes in me :-)
Butch
Hey thanks for the tips Butch. I'll try it.
