2 20Bs would probably be more apropriate for a say 7/8 scale P-38. Doesn't

cost anything to dream. Maybe someday...<<

I did a quick scaled sketch of the P-38L a few years ago, and stuck a scaled
figure representing myself in the cockpit...about 4/5 was as small as I
would go and not look like I was sitting ON the nose! <G>  Also, a quick
calculation determined that possibly two 13bs could do it at that
scale...especially if the fuselage was kept light by using those fantastic
new materials, fiberglass, epoxy and foam!

Wonder how much Burt charges to redesign a classic in fiberglass? ;-)

Burt has develped a pipeline into the government
 trough, so the answer is probably like the old
yacht story, if you have to ask-----". However,
if you contacted Rich at CI Composites, or Steve
and Chuck at Composites Unlimited a rough guess
would be somewhere between $200K and $300k for
a set of parts and molds. - Just to put a rough

Obviously blue foam mold-less construction is the only way to go for
a one off.
