I might be interseted in a tape, too. I'm doing the small stuff-

empenage fairing, gear leg fairings, etc., but I want to learn more before I
tackle the engine cowl. I want to do a cowl similar to Mike Wills'.

Anyone got a line on carbon fiber material?

I don't know how much people are looking for or how much experience they
have with composites-
I also sure Bill's tape is very good, but it must be very general and deal
with materials and technique rather than specific applications.
I'm assuming that people are looking for specifics ie. what weight/ style is
best in certain applications,
especially if their asking about carbon.
So if we know what the specific requirement is, perhaps we can point someone
in the right direction.
I don't believe there is info compiled on this - rather geleral knowledge
through experience.

There is a good book on the subject called Composite Basics
4th edition 1994 by Andrew C. Marshall. Available from AC Spruce
among others. I have a copy right here. There is also a book called Advanced 
Composites used as a text book in the better A&P schools oriented to repair of
airliner sandwich composites. I took the course at West LA
College a few years ago.
