For what it's worth an engineer said to make the exit duct three times the
inlet duct. That fixed the oil cooling. Also have always used the factory
cooler. They got that part right..Skip

I would agree with twice the size. Three times would not hurt if you had a 
flap and you could adjust it as needed.
