Have you heard from Chuck on how he moved his starter??  I

desperately need to move mine, but I'm afraid I will ruin my
current plate and end up having to spend $$$.  I'm basically
dead in the water until I can figure a way to do this.  Tracy
told me it could be done EASILY but I haven't figured out how
yet.  Its either move the starter or scrap my motor mount and
start fresh along with modifying the cowl.  Sure would be
nice if we could get Tracy to make a plate with the starter
in the 3 o'clock position!!!!!!!!!!  It sounds to me that
enough people would be interested to make it worth his effort!!!

Don, if you have trouble finding a local machine shop to do this, I could do
it for you if you send me your plate. If you want to tackle it yourself, I
can provide better step-by-step instructions on how I did it. It's not all
that hard to do with the right equipment. You could do it with a floor
standing drill press with a good vise. I attached a drawing of mine, I
mounted the starter as high as possible from 3:00 position for max clearance
for oil cooling duct. Moving closer to 3:00 would provide more clearance at
the top 1/4" attaching bolt and 3/8" top starter mounting bolt. Note the
drawing view is from behind, as seen by the pilot in a tractor airplane, so
the new starter position is 9:00 in the drawing.
