While I have absolutely no relationship with Hayes (I think I spoke with them
on the phone once), I am going to take the liberty of speaking for them and
several other small businesses that provide rotary related parts and service.
I recognize everyone's desire to save money, and the further admirable desire
of this group to really understand the technical aspects of rotary aviation
engineering. But please all recognize that small businesses count on selling
their products and services at a reasonable profit to stay alive. If Hayes is
offering proven o-rings, and has invested the time, effort, and $$ to
identify the proper configuration, supplier, etc, backed up by experience in
a large number of rebuilds, then I submit you should BUY the rings from him
rather than asking him to tell you where you can buy them without paying him
the small markup that pays for him to learn what works and what doesn't.

While I do advocate a free exchange of information, you should all recognize
that the small businesses that have developed this information with a sizable
investment of time and money should be supported by your patronage.
