I just learned that Dr. Jim Dana passed away on Friday. Jim had been a sporadic contributor to the newsletter, with an interest in gyrocopters. Jim had bypass surgery a few months ago, and was just getting back to work on a part time basis. Apparently he suffered a complication during a procedure to clear another blocked artery.

I didn't know Jim well, met him once because he was local here on Long Island, and would speak with him on the phone from time to time. I learned the news through a mutual acquaintance.
