While FS-2002 makes for pretty landscapes and such, X-Plane by Laminar

Reseach does a far better job with aircraft and weather. I also feel the
dynamics of the aircraft are superior and the whole thing runs faster,
better, smoother. It includes "plane maker" which is pretty comprehensive in
creating or modifying a plane. I had no trouble finding a good Cozy Mk IV on
the web, added full retracts, resized the speed brake, a new EFIS panel,
changed the paint stripes from billious green to purple and pink :) , upped
the HP to 300HP, changed the operating RPM range, changed the prop diameter,
chord and pitch, added the redrive ratio and upped the manifold pressure.

Lets just say FS-2002 is nice looking out the window but I sure like to

fly a good mockup of my plane as I am building it. The scenery is terrible
in X-Plane compared to FS-2002 but I don't intend to fly that low anyway.

Oh for the Long Ez guys I just d/l'd  one and I love it too.
Give X-plane V-5.66 a try.
I do not wish to bash FS-2002 Pro, I own it too. Airfoils in FS are pretty

much all flying diamonds, not sure how flight dynamics are modeled. X-Plane
uses real airfoils.. You select them from a table.

* For FS sims it's a matter of knowing which are the good ones, as its very
possible to create a very well done sim aircraft performance wise. If you
grab a file called "Aired" you can peruse and change the "airfile"
parameters. It is easy to do, one of the reasons there are so many
unrealistic aircraft. It is a bit of an art. For the stock GA in FS2002, try
Steve Small's Airfiles, he is considered the master and a long time pilot.
