Hi Paul -- Thanks for the fast reply. I was wanting to get at construction of the scoop ASAP and now I can get started. I was under the impression that there was something aerodynamically special about the inlet of the scoop. Greg was saying something about a 3 to 1 ratio to insure a pressure build up. One other thing, I'm planning on using a augmentor to help cool the exhaust gas as well as help pull air through the radiator and through the jacketed exhaust manifold and piping. All of this requires that I set the radiator in an up ward position. No room under the engine because of the augmentor. This means that the incoming air has to make a 90 degree turn before it can pass through the radiator and down the augmentor tube. I know that strait through is the best, but hope this will also work. I have two NACA scoops on the roof that are dumping air through a 23" X 5.25" X 2.25" Oil to air cooler and the H2O radiator which is 25" X13.25" X 2" is being feed by the bottom P51 style scoop. Appreciate any comments you may have. Thanks again for all the information. Best always - Joe
The augmentor is a good idea.
Just make sure you seal the edges of the radiator well. If in doubt about
what is happening use this tool to take some pressure measurements on
both sides of the radiators.
