Yes, details, this is just the thing I've been wanting.  Snap the iPAQ

into

its holder and it will do GPS and DAQ (I think we've combined threads
here).  I ran the Anywhere map all the way to Venezuela and back in the
RV-4 and loved it.  Now if I can get the engine data recorded on the

same

unit it would make performance development a snap.  Throw in a couple of
channels for pitot & static pressure and we've got a full up performance
analysis unit that spits out a spread sheet.

Would the Compac IPAQ 3850 be a good choise to interface engine and other

data into for a panel diplay? 

IMHO a stock PC mother board and off the shelf plug in data acquisition
ISA or PCI card is a much cheaper and much easier way of doing it.

Will it work with an Anywhere Map GPS unit?

Not at the same time.
