My RV-4 will be strictly a day/vfr bird without vacuum instruments (just an electric
turn/bank), but you guys got me curious about this once before.  I put a new starter
on my '89 5.0 Mustang (196,000 miles and it is getting really tired!) last summer and
weighed the air pump while I had it off - 5 lb 7 oz.  Much lighter than the Mazda, but
probably a lot heavier than a Geo.  But we won't know of a lighter one until
someone weighs one.  Until that time, I claim the lightest air pump! (grin).  I suggest
a Walmart digital fish scale to weigh this kind of stuff.  My fish scales agrees with
the local UPS scales down to the oz.
