FAA radar is pretty lame, they have turned down the gain, and screened

out ground

retuns to reduce clutter. Rich Trickel was working with the controller

one day

and asked if he thought he could "paint" him without the transponder. he

thoght he

could, but when rich turned it off the controller could not find him.

However do not

count against serious radar since we all have aluminum push rods, steel

cables

engines,
coax antenna runs etc etc. However I have less confidence with the

copper mesh

imbeded graphite scam against lightning. This may very well act as a

radar

dissapating "trap"

My real fear is some one in our "well educated" congress writing a law

against private

composite
planes. Remember one congressman seriosly campaigned to change the value

of Pi to

an even 3 - Vance

Pi = 3! Really? That sounds good to me.

If you are running dope who needs a radio?
Metal push pull rods could be changed to fiberglass.
As I recall one can buy stiff Kevelar rope or cord :-)

Finally! The answer to financing all the neat rotary research we all want so
bad.  Let's design a low cost, pilotless, stealth aircraft capable of
delivering 100 kilos a distance of 1000 miles.  It would be a piece of cake
with the talent right here in this group and I suspect we could sell all we
could make.  It wouldn't even have to land in one piece!

 I'm surprised it hasn't been done already.   Or maybe it has!

back in June 1988 which I cannot find my copy of :-)
Jeff Spitzer knows exactly how to do that as he is the project
engineer on the Predator.

Getting it in is a piece of cake. Selling it is the hard part.
You never know when a trusted customer is going to get pissed off and
try to get even. Not that I have ever done it. I just know one or
two guys that have.
