Made some noise measurements today. My hangar neighbor Steve stood 30 feet

C182 when I took off today. Result 111 db!!! So Mazda's are not so bad after all.
I zipped around to pick up Steve and we went for a short cross country
up to Mojave and Cal City. Result 96 db in the cockpit on climb out. 92 db
cruise at 21" MP and 2100 RPM. Back seat was 89 db. A scale... slow
setting on Radio Shack db meter.

Steve also got a C152 taking off at 97 db.
