Yes, that may be so but technology and fertile minds are not stationary so I ask the questions anyway just in case there is something new, otherwise there would be off the shelf solutions for everything we need. To the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as a firewall aft solution.. not even the Lycomings work the first time out; they all seem to have cooling issues.

Not necessarily. The  rotary engine in airplanes market is not big enough yet.
