If there is little drop in rpm when the trailing ignition is switched off
then the trailing ignition must not contrbute much power when it is on,
right? Or are you saying that running the trailing timing the same as the
leading the engine makes the same power as the leading ignition? I'm sorry
the reference to mag drop on a Lyc. has me confused. Maybe I should ask have
you flown on the trailing only and did it fly as fast with the leading
switched off? thanks Skip
