WitH the planetary reversing rotation, has anyone considered

reversing the

rotation of a Wankel engine to broaden the propeller selection

base?.

This is a common gambit with V8s and single stage gear reductions.

Not unless the exhaust port becomes the intake port and vice versa.

Then the

port
timing would be way off as would the cooling of the rotor housing.

Since you are making up all sorts of manifolds, reversing intake to

exhaust

is no big
deal.
Similar to any other 4 stroke engine there is significant overlap and

a high

degree of
symmetry in the effective valve timing, such that a minor amount of

porting

would take
care of any miss timing. The heat issue could be a sinker tho. Just

thought I

would
wake up the troops, and get the creative juices flowing - Vance :-)

You might be able to flip the rotor housings, but then they wouldn't

match

up to the end housings...

 There are a lot of problems doing it and I don't want to
waste time going over them again. If anybody really wants to discuss this

again get the

CD first as there are several engine heat distribution diagrams on the CD.

If you use a belt or chain drive you can turn one engine around as in
this drawing. Forget running one backwards. The cooling would be all wrong.
