Sounds like a good home grown way to put a prop flange on a PSRU output

shaft.

One common automotive use.  We would replace ring gears on flywheels using
this method.  Place flywheel in freezer and ring gear in oven. Pull both
out and place ring gear on flywheel.  Once both came to same temperatureou
could not budge.  Always worked.  Never noticed any slippage.
