Greetings
In looking at the negatives on a rotary it seems that Mazda stopped
selling the rotary
in the US because of fuel economy amoung other things.
Also reading about the rotary this fact is mentioned in several
places.
It would appear that this fact is so.
Question is does anyone know why this is so?
Also, we had asked on another post if anyone had used the aluminum
end
housings from
Racing Beat? If so what do you think about them?
Royce
That was not the reason at all. Most people thought $35K was too much
money for
a third gen RX7 in 1993. Sales went down. An EPA/CARB OBD II
requirement
for 1994
was the last straw. Mazda pulled it from the N.A. market.
RB has several hundred hours on the dyno with the 900 HP turbo three
rotor
and alloy end housings. Improvements in coatings have been made over
the
years.

The Mazda is a sports car not a Ugo! Sports car are not built around

economy but speed and looks! Think of this does Porshe get good fuel
mileage?
My RX-7 burns more than my old diesel Rabbit, but not much different than
the Mustangs, Beemers, Camaros I like to play with. Remember the rotary is
the displacement replacement.
How about those Canuck hockey boys and girls eh ?
