Paul, just curious about the two rubber mount adaptors, could they be two large pieces of angle extrusion attached to the backside?

Yes that would work. They would put a bit of torque on the plate but nothing a 1/2 inch
thick 6061 T6 plate cannot handle. A simple way of doing it. Might
save a bit of money as the plate could be narrower. You will need a 1/2 inch
thick angle which is a bit rare. You could double up on a 1/4 inch
thick angle with a bit of tig welding or long rivets.

Note! The way I have it done it locks together with tab A in slot B.
So the bolts take no shear load. Worst case is a six G drop in from ten
feet up or a six G pull up. In that case each mount is taking about
900 pounds of down force on the tripods. Nothing they can't handle.

Yes, I can appreciate the anti-shear aspect of the tab-n-slot arrangement. I would dowel pin the angles in place or drop in a shallow pocket. I was just trying to get the mounting point back a bit closer to the firewall. When I have some time I will model in ACAD. Turbo manifold should arrive tomorrow... just like xmas!
I think when and if I figure out WHICH TO-4 I need then once it is on the engine things will become a lot clearer as to where we may or may not put mounting components.

Good idea Chrissi. Dress the engine first and then figure out where to put
the mounts.
