The muffler is better than it looks. It is a tangential muffler
and the exhaust pulses spin around inside there and become somewhat
homogenized before the gases make their way out. It is also made
from .063 thick 304  stainless for durability.

Just in case you wanted my opinion; the stresses introduced to support this
muffler will likely result  in stress corrosion in the SS; so monitor it
carefully.  Dave Atkins had a similar configuration that basically crumbled
after not too long a time.  Stainless steel will work satisfactorily at the
rotaries exhaust temps if it is stress free - supported separately and
isolated from the engines vibration.

It's a good configuration for inconel.
