I might add Ken is using a 2.93:1 (or there abouts) gear box so he runs
his engine faster than most everybody else. Up to 8000 RPM.

I have been running that same sized pulley for years without a problem, up to
9,500 RPM. I also ran the stock pulley up to 9,500 without a problem. I run a
restrictor in the water outlet to increase pressure in the block, and a 16
pound Stant lever style pressure cap. Never had a problem with overheating or
pump damage from cavitation. I would stick with the small pulley and a 16 or
22 pound cap.
