Can the manifold connection to the block be reversed - Will it fit such
that the exit pipe points toward to front cover rather than the flywheel?
My stock 91 can be switched that way and I am curious as whether this one
can also be switched.

Ed, yes it can if you grind about .100" of the flange ear to clear the longitudinal bolt. The lower edge of the flange has had this treatment.
I like this manifold because the turbo mounting flange is moved forward and a TO-4 carries the compressor forward of that.. pushes the whole assembly closer to the firewall.
Also the C/L of the  turbo will be closer to the height of the engine C/L.
Should allow a more compact cowl shape.

Ed won't that put the turbo lower? If so you will have trouble with the turbo oil
drain back. I won't even get into the plugs up implications :-)>
