with Mazda bell housings, I've been thinking that rather than casting a

custom B/H

I would spin the housing from thick AL and heliarc on flanges and

brackets

as req'd,

from what you know of the factory B/H , is this possible ?

If you can spin bell housings Ed we will beat a path to your door.
We can use them for the PSRU.

Send me a JPEG drawing with a section view of what you need and I'll see

if it can

spun.  Indicate what wall thickness you need.  The alloy of Al will be

determined

by welding requirements and corner radii.

We need a hat section about 3 inches deep, about 12 inches in diameter
with a one inch flange all around. 3/16-1/4  inch thick. OA would be about 14
inches
of course.

Paul, any maximun radius at the top of the hat ?

My guess is a two inch radius would be fine. Not sure about that. I would have to
check on my engine up at the hangar. We could TIG weld on a starter adaptor
and motor mount brackets. Here is the bolt circle. Adjustments based on this
dwg would be a 13 inch diamter hat with a 15 inch OA all. One inch flange.
This Mazda rear end housing bolt circle is about 14.3 inches in diameter.
