Well that is what we are doing now but weight wise it is a bit heavy.
The four inch long bolts and three inch spacer them selves are a lot of the

weight.

Looks wise or cosmetics it is less than pretty.

Most Mazda Bell housing are too long for Tracy input shaft as well.

So Paul,
Looking at Don Dunbars efforts as well as yours and Tracys, I'm wondering
how much trouble would it be to have a BH made using a similar design as
Don's BH - picking - up the starter motor ( I like the starter motor
position that Don's BH) but making it shorter.

It only reqiures a pattern, perhaps a cut down BH will do the job.
You could build in the engine mounting points, at the same time.
How much trouble can this be - is there a strength issue your concerned
about.

Don are you watching this or you off on another tangent ?

We looked into a sand casting and decided it was too heavy. The hot tip
is a spinning as that can be made thin enough to save a bunch of weight.
Mazda bell housing are nice and light as they are die cast. Problem 
is they are too long.
