 Sounds great if it drops oil temp by 15F.  I wonder whether it might lower
 oil flow to things like the injector oil pump - not a problem if you don't
 use one, I suppose.  Since the oil pump housing oils the chain - no problem
 there.  Does this mean the infamous front cover "O" ring problem will no
 longer be a problem?  Will the oil pressure controller valve still function?
 I presume if the engine lives under racing conditions then the mod does not
 have an adverse side effects.

the o ring but that would eliminate the pressure control valve, any
thoughts on how important that valve is.

Ken I don't know of anybody that has tried it. Sounds scary.

BTW look at the back side of a front cover. Notice that the oil injector pump
is fed from the upper main oil gallery so doing away with the o-ring and feed to
the pressure control valve would not affect the oil injector pump.

On further study of the front end housing I found I was wrong.
What I labeled as the upper main oil gallery in the front cover
was merely a hollow locating dowel pin. The little hole does indeed
communicate with the upper main oil gallery but it does so in the
front end housing. Here is the corrected picture.
