second or two. That means it is going to work.

If the bolt is that close to the opening, can't you just drive that in through the opening in the manifold with a ball-end Bonhaus driver? Then put the tube in place?

You are forgetting the counter bore for the head of the socket head screw.
Also the hole is far enough down in there to clear the tube.

There's a tool called a back counter bore the would let you drill and c'bore for the SHCS from the gasket side of the manifold, would that help?

I take it you pull on it instead of push. That might do away with the plug. Anymore info?
