It looks great Paul but I would like the starter on the other side to get
totally away from the turbo exhaust.  Also, a longer (deeper?) version for
canards.  We are always trying to get the prop further away from the wing
wake.

We looked at this a while back. It is not practical to put the starter on
the other side for several reasons. One: The starter bolts interfere and the
starter housing interferes with the end housing casting. Put a heat
shield around the exhaust to reduce radiation to the starter.

This is made to fit Tracy's input shaft and PSRU which
is 3.55 inches (aft in your case) of the engine rear end housing
bell housing bolting surface.
Just use a stock prop extension on Tracy's psru to get the prop further aft.

      Paul there should not be any interference with the end housing
 on the 93-95 13BREW and 13B or 20B Cosmo engines as the housing is
 machined for a starter in that area. I for one would rather have my
 starter on the plug side to avoid the weight concentration on the
 exhaust/turbo side as well as avoiding heat. You can add me to list
 of those interested if starter could be moved. Perhaps the casting
 mold could have the starter pad be a movable part that could be
 placed on either exhaust or plug side?

No way can the 93 down starter be moved. You 93 up guys will have to work out
your own bell housings if you want the starter over there. You will
also have to use a 93 up unique starter. Expensive and hard to find.
Here is a pic of Bulents Cosmo & 93 up. Notice the starter is a special 
spur gear version moving the starter further out from the e-shaft 
center line. Good luck.

The weight issue means nothing. Think about flying a side by side airplane 
with pilot only. Seven pound starter six inches off the center line will not 
be noticed. If you are worried about the heat put a blast tube on it.

on his RV4. Notice that the electrical part is a long way from
the muffler or the turbo. 

These are non-existent problems guys.

I am willing to bet the starter will live a better life under the 
cowl than under the hood.
