MHD has been tested for silent propulsion in salt water but last I heard the
top speed was just a tad over drifting. Generating electricity from exhaust
is perhaps barely possibe but the super conducting magnet and liquid helium
would be a bit bulky not to mention deposits from the potassium "seeding".
Along the pipe dream trail, I have often thought about generating
electricity
in the prop hub - ala the hydraulic pump on Zlin's and contolling the prop
by radio control for a total wireless system.

on second thought them damn brushes are starting to look pretty good.
