I have been carefully following the string on the
replacement of the Contact Rings/Brushes in the LAEV,
and decided to let it die down before I chimed in.....So
it's time.

This has been a very common topic since the inception of
power line transmission where countless of thousands of
dollars (Millions today) were spent in experimental
wireless power transmission via towers sans wire. Today
I can safely state that what is being proposed is quite
doable and I was personally commissioned to such a
project for France which required the pitching of 127
blades per wheel x 48 wheels on a gargantuan turbine
.....It was an 18mos round the clock project
provedrooved to be quite successful..at BIG $$$$$$......
enough said.

So if anybody can come up with a way of doing the same
in the LAEV at the cost and simplicity of contact
Rings/Brushes, I'll get you an in with much bigger Prop
manufacturers than I or most wouldn't even dream of
being............I digress.

Paul, I was surprised at the 10-15amp guesstimate you
took on the power requirement of the Gearmotor, It's
really just under 3amps at 12V........I may have
misunderstood your posting...... Anyway, I've taken the
liberty of including "Tubular Performance" for that
particular Gearmotor for the benefit of the subscribers.

Sorry. Just a wild ass guess on my part. I could have looked it
up I guess as I have the Globe motor cat. Subconsciously discouraging people
from going off on the complicated non contacting route I suppose :-)
