To the list, I have a couple question for you all.
Are there any tell tale signs that side housings have been lapped before?
I have seen where some wear to the side housings is permissible for the rotary according to Bruce but I am a little gun shy when it comes to the aviation part of it as you cant just pull over if your engine quits.Is it a good idea to have the side housings lapped for any amount of wear on them before putting the engine back together?
I bought an 89-91 turbo ][ motor a month ago and have started to tear it down using Bruce's video.
It appears that the motor is in good shape with the exception of the following findings.

1. The oil bypass thermostat in the front of the E-shaft had the pin gummed up and frozen in the open mode.

2. One Apex seal was broke in half in the center of the seal which caused a little gaulling damage to the center of the rotor.The rotor housing is not marred from the damage.

3. Oil jets in E-shaft were loose.

4. Side housings have minimal wear from corner seals of rotor. I will mic those up in the next day or to.
