I don't know.  Check with Jim Mederer.  I suspect it's because they didn't
want to spend the money to check and see if synthetics could pass their
standards for consumption, etc.  Remember, rotaries are like two strokes and
must burn up their oil supply to survive.  Another reason why most makers
